Taste the World walking tours for groups are a unique self-guided dining experience designed to introduce those new to the city to our great variety of downtown restaurants. Tours are arranged in advance by group coordinators. (Are you a group coordinator? Find details about planning a Taste the World walking tour for your group here.)

How does the Taste the World walking tour for groups work?
  • Before the tour, your group coordinator will give you your Taste the World booklet, which includes a map and grants you access to all the servings at the participating restaurants.
  • Plan the order of your stops, allowing a suggested minimum of 60 to 75 minutes within the allotted time to visit all the locations.
  • We ask that attendees travel in smaller groups of no more than 10 people, so as not to overwhelm the restaurants, and to diminish the chance of long lines.
  • At each restaurant, tear off the perforated ticket from the Taste the World booklet, hand it to the greeter, and receive your serving.
  • You will receive servings at five different restaurants.
  • We invite you to take a look around, peek at the menu, and soak in the sights and aromas before heading off to the next destination.
Please note that this is not a sit-down meal. Because of limited seating and time, you may eat while standing inside or outside the restaurants, or while walking to your next destination. Feel free to buy drinks and other menu items (either take-out or sit-down, as space and time allow).

Is this a family friendly event?
Yes, the tours are appropriate for people of any age! Young children may share their family's food and do not need a Taste the World booklet. Order a ticket for children who will need their own servings. (One serving per booklet is strictly enforced, so that the restaurants do not run out of food!)

What happens if there is inclement weather?
The event will be held rain or shine, so please dress appropriately. We do not offer refunds.

What if I have a smaller group?
We also offer Taste the World tours for individuals, families, and smaller groups, on the second Friday of each month, May through October, and occasional special events. If those dates don't suit you, contact us about joining up with another smaller group.
